On June 11, 2008 several kids and youth joined Ms Jessie and others for a trip downtown for the first annual Riverpark FunDay.  Following the trip to downtown, the group enjoyed a swim in Roger and Donna Davis' pool.  Thanks to all who assisted in this project.   Below are some pictures taken during this fun time.

This year’s Family Lenten Fair was held Wednesday night, March 19, 2008 from 5:30-7:30 pm.  This family event began with a spaghetti dinner at 5:30 in the fellowship hall.  After dinner crafts, games, and an Easter story drama was presented by our youth.  The festivities  concluded with an Easter egg hunt for the children.  Below are several pictures from the Family Lenten Fair:

Vacation Bible School is offered each year; the pictures below reflect a small part of 2007's class.  The 2007 theme was "Avalanche Ranch: A Wild Ride through God's Word."  Following a fun and meaningful week for our children, they presented a special VBS program on Sunday, July 1 during the 10:45 a.m. worship service.  The Vacation Bible School dates for 2008 are July 7 through July 11.  Below are pictures from 2007's Vacation Bible School:

Nursery is available during all worship services, Sunday school, and Wednesday nights from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.   Nursery is also available for fellowship opportunities and other prearranged ministry team meetings.  Our nursery is staffed with a cast of loving and caring individuals.   We want all parents and their children to have a happy experience while they are in our care.  A pager system is used to communicate with parents on Sunday mornings.  To request child care for an event please contact Jessie Griffith at 835-2201 or at jgriffith@nlrfumc.org.

Early Christian Awareness (ECA) is offered at 9:30 am on Sundays for ages 9 months to 2 years in our nursery rooms.  Young children learn about Jesus, the bible, nature, and many other wonderful things through song, touch, and imaginative story-telling.  We believe this early education is a great way to begin their faith journey.

Kid's Praise is a program for kids ages 3 - 5 that provides bible stories/crafts, songs, and fun while parents are attending the 10:45 am service.  The children’s activities are centered on the same scriptures that are being preached in the 10:45 service.
Preschool Sunday School is offered in two separate classes at 9:30 am (3-4 year-old preschool class; and a 4-5 year-old pre-kindergarten class) that present Bible story lessons that are matched to your child’s developmental level.  These children will benefit from wonderful committed teachers that will remain with them for the entire year.  Our preschool classes begin their Sunday school time in the chapel for choir time.  During this time the children work on songs to be presented at special times of worship.

Rotation Sunday School includes Kindergarten through 5th grade; this is an exciting Sunday school program that is child oriented to help younger minds understand God’s teachings. From Safari.Net computer lab to Cinema on the Mount Theater, from arts and crafts in Carpenter’s cape to the Choral Reef music room, kids in Cruisin’ Christian Adventurers will have a blast!

Wacky Wednesday involves preschool kid’s ages 4and up along with Elementary kids in grades K – 5.  These kids have the opportunity to participate in a mid-week ministry on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 pm. As the name suggest, this time of learning is experienced through themed lessons in some very wacky ways.  They will come together with friends and learn Bible truths and scriptures through fast paced activities and games, incredible crafts, Bible stories, and much more.

Acolytes symbolically carry the light of Christ to the congregation in the 10:45 worship service, and carry it out into the world.
